Offroad mode vs Rally mode. Riding the 2021 1290 Super Adv. R and I'm trying to improve my skills. When the bike is in Offroad mode, the MTC/traction control allows more traction slip compared with street. In Rally mode the MTC can be adjusted in 9 "steps". Had an SA-S, traded on a factory lowered 1250GS. I gave the KTM a good try before I traded it for the BMW. I like them both but BMW GS models had more options with the lowered bike and fit me better. Variable valve timing tends to make engines more fuel efficient, and the BMW system is no exception. The new R1250GS has a claimed fuel efficiency of 59.5mpg (4.75l/100km) – that’s a significant improvement on the R1200’s 42mpg.
