Ford generally takes responsibility for the problem, so it would be in your best interest to contact Ford and register your problem with its customer assistance people (13 3673), particularly if your warranty is about to expire next month.
Ford Focus. The Ford Focus is a compact car that may also experience engine problems. Some common issues include: Faulty ignition coils causing misfires and reduced power; Malfunctioning fuel pump causing engine stalling; Transmission failure leading to loss of power and accelerationNot much, sadly. These 3rd generation Foci have a “dual clutch” transmission that is supposed to behave sort of like a manual clutch. Apparently, they weren’t engineered very well and cause quite a few problems. Yours, if it’s the original transmission that came in the car, has lasted a lot longer than most. The fact this issue has been known since 2011 and a recall has not been forced on Ford is ridiculous.
